Unlike brick-and-mortar stores, where you can simply look around at what’s in your inventory and subtract out your purchase costs to get an accurate sense of your sales revenue, ecommerce sellers must account for a whole host of additional expenses like shipping, taxes, storage, and distribution. These are called your cost of goods sold (COGS), and understanding them is essential to making sound pricing decisions that drive profitability.

Rather than reporting gross sales, the most important number for any ecommerce business is net sales. Net sales represent your total sales revenue minus returns, discounts, allowances, and merchant or processing fees. This gives you the true picture of your income, which investors are much more interested in than your gross sales. Счетоводство на онлайн магазин цена
